~ THE VINE AND ITS BRANCHES ~
This lesson series is based on John 15. God is the husbandman or caretaker of the vine and its branches. Jesus is the vine that nourishes the branch. His atonement according to the "Word of truth" provides the strength that the branch needs in order to bear fruit. The branches are the part of the plant that display the glory of the vine. They bear fruit and scatter seed that reproduces the vine. The branch cannot exist apart from the vine that feeds it. But without the branch, the vine cannot reproduce. The branches bring the vine to its fullness. God wants us to walk as one with Him in a relationship. He brings us to completeness and We bring Him to His fullness.

God is a faithful husbandman and has provided us with everything that we need in order to walk in a healthy relationship with Him. Everything He created was good with the well-being of man in mind. Man is weak in His flesh. He is double minded. The battle that we all face between the flesh and the Spirit has its roots in the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil." That tree was placed in the garden by God because He had a purpose for it.

For the creature was made subject to vanity, not willingly, but by reason of him who hath subjected the same in hope, because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. (Romans 8:20-21)
